Our Story,
In 2017 we were introduced to the world of goats. After purchasing one small black and white goat with stunning blue eyes we knew at that moment she would be coming home with us. Soon after putting her in the trailer to bring her home we decided on the name Priscilla (After Elvis Presley’s wife). After many hours and days and months of research done on Myotonics we found out that it was possible to register her under our very own farm name. This was the very beginning of Stoney Hill Fainters. We live on the base of the Handhills in Alberta and out here it is incredibly bumpy due to the excessive amount of stones. So what better name than Stoney Hill Fainters? We decided to acquire a buck registered under our name that was not related to Priscilla. This is where the Stoney Hill Fainters journey began. Over the past couple of years we have had a few kids out of this dynamic duo that we have sold just to get our toes wet. Now we have decided to really go for it with some retained Stoney Hill Fainter stock from Reno and the addition of a fantastic buck and four beautiful does sold to us from Turtle Mountain Fainters. We plan on really moving forward with our breeding future. Prissy and Reno are no longer with us on the farm but we do have offspring of Reno’s and some of our current does that will help to continue the Stoney Hill Fainter legacy you will read more about them in their biography page. As breeders we are always very open to adding any additional goats from other breeders, as well as adding some US lines. After five years of owning goats we wanted to share our journey and hopefully be able to provide you with some new stock for your breeding program. Or even a pet if that is all you are looking for.
Herd health is a priority for us, so we do regular Johnes and CAE testing. We also vaccinate our does with Covexin prior to kidding. We always want to ensure that we are providing our buyers with the healthiest of animals possible.
We are very excited about this next part of our journey and will be regularly updating our website to provide you with our latest updates, additions and changes to our crazy little farm.
Let the adventure begin…
